Opening 2025: one VC Analyst Trainee position

This is an opportunity to dive deep into the Nordic and European deep tech ecosystem, working alongside experienced investors and entrepreneurs who have built and backed global success stories.

Voima Ventures is seeking one Venture Capital Trainee to join our ambitious and fun investment team. In this role, your primary role is to build dealflow and evaluate investment opportunities and gain hands-on experience in the dynamic world of venture capital and tech entrepreneurship. This part-time position, approximately 20 hours per week, is designed to complement your studies, offering a unique opportunity to work at the intersection of cutting-edge science, entrepreneurship, and finance, contributing directly to impactful investment decisions.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Deal Sourcing & Screening (40%)
    • Participate in various weekly ecosystem events to meet top founders and teams
    • Identify and assess promising startups, including attending events and connecting with founders.
    • Screen incoming deal flow for alignment with Voima Ventures’ investment thesis.
  2. Investment Analysis & Market Research (40%)
    • Conduct detailed market and competitive analyses in various deep tech sectors, such as AI, quantum computing, health tech, and sustainability.
    • Evaluate startups, pitch decks, business models, unit economics, and value propositions.
    • Assist in due diligence processes, including financial modeling and data analysis.
  3. Data Management & Reporting (20%) 
    • Maintain and update CRM tools with deal flow and portfolio data.
    • Prepare materials and presentations for investment committee meetings.

We’re looking for a curious and entrepreneurial mind to join our team as a VC Analyst Trainee. You combine great social and presentation skills with analytical skills, with a proactive, problem-solving approach, and a passion for innovation.

You are:

  • Pursuing or recently completed a degree in economics, finance, engineering, life sciences or other relevant science-related field.
  • A relationship builder: skilled in networking with people, selling/discussing ideas, and getting to know various stakeholders across the ecosystem.
  • Analytical and tech-savvy, comfortable with business & tech analysis
  • Passionate about deep tech, from AI to biotech and quantum
  • Experienced in or curious about startups, venture ecosystems, or entrepreneurship programs.
  • An excellent communicator (English required; Swedish is a plus) who thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced environment but is also self-driven and able to get things done
