Biomensio is a biotech start-up, developing the next generation multianalyte biosensing technology platform based on our proprietary Mass Sensitive Micro Array (MSMA) sensor.  Our technology enables fully digital, rapid, and accurate multianalyte testing at the point of need.  Application areas where we have mostly worked so far include tests for Drugs of Abuse, SARS-CoV-2, and food safety.

Biomensio is a privately held company, spun off from Siemens AG and VTT Technical Research Centre of Finland, both continuing as owners, together with several Angel Investors.  Apart from direct equity investments we have received significant grants, e.g., under the European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation program.  We currently have two offices, in Tampere and in Espoo, Finland.

We are now looking for a highly motivated and multidisciplinary Chief Technology Officer to join our passionate team.  Your role will be crucial in aligning the development work for our sensor technology and reader devices, including microfluidic solutions.  Our Product Roadmap development and maintenance will be driven by you, also verifying, and validating the new products’ risks and costs, and creating new know-how and even IPR in the process.

We are looking for a seasoned professional in:

  • program management of complex R & D projects and rapid prototyping
  • electronics design and semiconductor development
  • continuous improvement and quality management
  • strategic business development with product focus.

Additionally, experience and interest in biotechnology, diagnostics and microfluidic technologies is a clear asset.  And for this senior role, we expect you to have good leadership and social skills, with attention to detail.

Most importantly, we are looking for the right personality and mindset!  We are a start-up operation with an exciting technology that has a huge potential in vast application areas.  We have to bring our technology and the applications to maturity, and that is not always straight forward or particularly easy.  But if you find exploring unchartered waters rewarding, in pursuit of a worthy mission, and do not mind getting your hands dirty, this team could be yours to join.

If you tick above boxes and are hungry for your next challenge, send your resume, and motivation letter to:  careers@biomensio.com

More information of this position will be provided by Harri Leinonen, CEO, tel. +358 400 720532.  The position will be filled immediately once the suitable candidate has been found.
